Again Kidnappers Target Idah Poly, Abduct Registrar

    • The Federal Polytechnic (IDAHPOLY), Idah in Kogi State, is fast becoming a kidnappers haunt with the abduction of another top official of the institution happening at the weekedn.

    IDAHPOLY Registrar, Mr. Kareem Abu was abducted from his residence in Idah by gunmen.
    However, Mr. Abu's name is only the latest in a list of the kidnappers' victims, bringing to four the number of those abducted so far.
    On the 25th of April, 2014, the Rector of the institution, Mathew AKpata, was abducted at his residence at Idah in Idah LGA of Kogi State.
    Luckily, he regained freedom after the kidnappers’ getaway car crashed into a tree and they fled, leaving him behind.
    It was also reported, in March this year, that the school's Bursar was kidnapped from his residence and his brother killed in the attack.
    The institution’s librarian also fell victim to the kidnappers last year.
    This latest abduction has spurred speculations and insinuations as the motives behind the kidnaps remain unknown.
